Men’s Rights Will Prevail as Feminism Sinks its Own Ship
Wednesday, December 9, 2009
By Paul Elam
It might appear that men‘s equality sits on a mountaintop too high to reach in our lifetime. Feminist hegemony seems to reign like the Catholic Church in the age of Copernicus. Academics, government, media and the judicial system look like little more than extensions of feminist dogma. The workplace and even the social strata appear to have become feminist property. For a number of years, average men have been acting as though they lived in 1936 Berlin or 1970 Moscow, measuring their words carefully and casting a quick, vigilant glance over their shoulder before speaking. Others extol the virtues of feminism with sincerity that can only be properly expressed with help from a straw hat, a cane and some Vaudeville piano. And some men are the real deal, born again believers dancing though the socio-political morass like Hare Krishna’s in an airport, complete with dirty faces and donation baskets. Meanwhile, many Men’s Rights Activists, genuinely passionate about the cause, work under assumed names because of the very real danger of personal and professional retaliation if they are “discovered.
”Vee know vaht you haff been dooink.
It’s a sad testament to the reality that the thought police are not just imagined characters in some novelists dystopian fantasies. Men who mix the truth with their identities can be hurt by it, and have been. But there is trouble brewing for feminists. Not just annoyances from the cacophony of uppity MRA’s that plague their online comment threads, but real trouble of the catastrophic variety. In fact, feminism as we know it is going to unravel sooner than you might think. The “First Great Wave” of masculism is on its way. It isn’t a revolutionary tsunami, but it is happening fast, like flood waters rising with deceptive speed and force. And in the end, it will drown the feminist orthodoxy before they even notice the waterline is over their nostrils. If you think this is wishful thinking, keep reading. MRA’s are already influencing and shaping a new Zeitgeist. The evidence of that is clear and measurable and is already changing the collective consciousness of the western world. In little more than the past year we have witnessed events in the Men’s Rights Movement that range from relatively impressive to significant…to groundbreaking. There were two major court decisions in California and West Virginia that were very real, judicial cuts at the corrupt, feminist controlled domestic violence industry. Very recently the European Court of Human Rights dealt a severe blow to anti-father laws in Germany. In the last year we witnessed fathers’ rights protests in the presumably unlikely country of Mexico and the emergence of the movement in India. Men in Missouri recently won the right to use paternity testing in child support cases. In Canada a major academic has being teaching college students about misandry and another has been advocating increased efforts to enroll men in liberal arts programs, even as she is being harassed for doing it. And as just reported on Men’s News Daily, The On Step Institute issued a press release announcing a convention on creating men’s studies programs at the university level. This is not just more of what we have seen in the past in men’s studies, which amounted to nothing more than a women’s studies program dressed up with a fake beard and a pair of plastic, pin-on cajones. It’s an effort that will ultimately produce a tectonic shift in the academic landscape with lasting, positive effects for men in western culture. All these things leave one wondering what precisely has happened in recent times to spark such a flurry of events, seemingly unrelated, yet all bound to the common theme of positive changes on behalf of men. Why, after decades of trying, are things finally starting to happen, and why so fast? The answer isn’t complicated. The idea of speaking up for men is finally gaining acceptance. And that acceptance is all the culture ever needed to effect positive changes, the first of which was unclenching the vitriolic stranglehold that feminism had taken on our common sense. Feminists are no longer The Untouchables of western politics, and once that reality spreads some more, and it certainly will, the proverbial gig will be up. For this it is easy to credit to people like Warren Farrell and Christina Hoff Sommers; Kathleen Parker and Stephen Baskerville. Or the handful of others published and well known within the men’s rights community. And no doubt they have done much good. But there is something else afoot here; something even more powerful. It is rooted in the collective consciousness of the society we live in, and it is much more dynamic than any given handful of writers or activists. Forty years ago feminists steamrolled their way into the limelight of our attentions. Riding on the coat tails of the civil rights movement, they forced, with a less than legitimate agenda, a pendulum swing of such momentum that it literally swung out of sight. It moved so far away so fast that it appeared primacy in the gender dialogue belonged to feminists, and always would. That pendulum is swinging back. Recently a fellow MRA pointed me to some very interesting statistics regarding the internet and gender activism. And what they reflect is that MRA’s are taking over the online world. Fact is we already have. In 2007 if you did a Google search on both men’s rights and women’s rights you would have gotten the following results.
Women’s rights: 4,270,000 hits
Men’s rights: 511,000 hits
Exactly two years later you can do the same search with these results:
Women’s rights: 48,300,000
Men’s rights: 70,600,000
In other words, we went from lagging by over 400% to a very substantial lead in two years flat. You may wonder why the internet matters considering the feminist influence in the mainstream media. It matters very much. Some elements of the mainstream media, largely as a result of the internet, are on the decline. Print media is clamoring against ever narrowing profit margins, cutting costs as much as possible but still falling behind the curve. Cable and network news outlets have been forced to integrate the internet into standard operations to reach the increasingly valued demographic of consumers who blend traditional and online sources for news. Political discussion forums and online campaigning are growing astronomically. Even political fledglings are using social networking sites like Facebook to launch their ambitions. It all points in the same direction. The internet is the mainstream media of the future, and its nature doesn’t allow the traditional gags to be placed on alternative ideas. In other words, in the online world, when the media talks, we get to talk back. And that fact makes it impossible to ignore any group with sufficient numbers and the will to voice their ideas. MRA’s have the drive and the will and the exponentially growing numbers. We are literally changing the way people think each and every day. And feminists are hardly in a place any more to stand in the way. Their dominance in so many areas has been long taken for granted, standard operating procedure if you will. But it is highly vulnerable for a variety of reasons. After a generation of debunked assertions, bad science and overtly sexist propaganda, their legacy of lies is finally making its karmic return to the source. Keeping a grip on power at some point hinges on keeping a grip on reality. Failing at this, modern feminism has become a paper tiger, caged in its own hypocrisy, subsisting on a diet of delusion and hubris. Which is another way of saying they are eating their own excrement. A once almost unassailable socio-political fortress, the gynocracy is now gimcrack on its way to rubble, and feminism no longer a sustainable movement, but just a profoundly neurotic hitch in social evolution that is in the early stages of being corrected. Going though demographic information provided by sites like Alexa.com and others, you get a pretty clear picture of average people keeping abreast of gender issues. When you compare feminist websites like Feministing.com to sites like Mensnewsdaily.com it paints a pretty embarrassing contrast for feminists, assuming they can be embarrassed. Their demographics, particularly in education, look to be drawn from a mosh pit in an urban hell hole. Intelligent, informed people seldom stay with shaky logic and false premises. As feminism continues to exceed the average life expectancy of bad ideas, those that cling to it are often the only ones dumbed-down enough for the job, or those so hopelessly brainwashed that they no longer can tell reality apart from deified victimhood. So while men’s rights activism is on a steamroll and will soon be barreling like a locomotive right at the feminist power structure, the gate keepers won’t mount much of defense. The worm has already turned; consciousness of the truth is already being instilled into the culture on a growing scale. And truth is the ultimately the terminal blow at any bogus ideology. We won’t know about this from picketing, shrill demonstrations or flaming effigies on the streets. There won’t be a trumpet call or a celebratory parade. We can simply see that the tide is turning each time a court inflicts justice on the tainted domestic violence industry. Our evidence will be the demise, one by one, of rape shield laws, the prosecution of paternity fraud and lying for the purpose of a restraining order. Or crying rape when sex was consensual to cover guilt, or simply to cover the “victims” reputation with the person to which they were supposedly committed. We will witness it in the eventual end of Title IV-D funding to corrupt family courts and the enforcement of shared parenting. The groundwork, and more importantly, the consciousness for all this, is being laid as we live and breathe. This movement will find its way into social circles where statements like “Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them,” are met with stone cold glares and the righteous indignation they deserve. And we will know how real it all is as we hear the increased wailing of feminists who claim MRA’s are about misogyny and denying equal rights and watch it fall flat and hollow on ears that grow more and more weary of histrionics and crying wolf. Feminism will die from a synergistic overdose of stupidity, smugness and sexism. And the men’s rights agenda will prevail because it is one of justice and equality under the law. That agenda isn’t just carried by those in the limelight. It is a groundswell of outrage that has been corked up for nearly a half a century. It is legions of men and women who are finally waking up and deciding the enough is enough. And so we have reached the time that if you want to get on the train, you will have to get a move on for a good seat. But it will be worth the effort. Or, as I recently read from another MRA, “This train is the only one that knows where it’s going.”All aboard. It might appear that men‘s equality sits on a mountaintop too high to reach in our lifetime. Feminist hegemony seems to reign like the Catholic Church in the age of Copernicus. UPDATE
**Authors note: The Google search results listed above are subject to question, a result of varying returns from Google. My apologies for the confusion.
The following regarding Google search results on men’s vs. women’s rights was included in error:
Women’s rights: 48,300,000 hits
Men’s rights: 70,600,000 hits
The actual numbers vary. After a reader reported and I confirmed that the actual returns on women’s rights were 447,000,000, I added a correction to the piece. But in checking again, I came up with close to the original quote from the article as you can see here

When the internet first became available, it was a relief to find other like minded men; I was no longer alone in the world questioning feminism.
Had the internet not happened, the swapping of ideas between, the UK, Australia or the States would have been very difficult.
In many ways the media was censoring what we were able to read, and books that challenged feminism were not imported into other countries.

The prescient and empirical validity of the above article is found in many surprising places too. Even previous oracles of governmental untruth and propaganda now have to open up to interactivity with disbelieving and skeptical audiences.
For example, the UK’s BBC no longer has as many a censorship opportunity it once did, thanks to the internet’s overwhelming power to allow immediate critical and contrary responses to its disseminated absurdities and contradictions.
In the following case, thousands of online skeptics rebuffed the UK Justice Ministers’ attempt to justify via BBC broadcast, the attempted application of different punishment criteria to the different genders, for the same crimes normally attracting imprisonment.
In gender bigot JACK STRAWs own words: “Many female prisoners have children and are the principal provider of care, so being sent to prison disrupted both their and their children’s lives. We have to be sensible and humane in getting offending down in men and women, and we have to have different, but firm, approaches”. http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=7307&edition=1&ttl=20091209190513

Articulated very well Paul. The last 2 years have seen remarkable changes in attitudes and more men coming forward after learning their relative worth in Family Courts.
We will prevail and it will not be to control, coerce or bully it will be to level the playing field so both genders can feel free of oppressive and mendacious nanny state interventions in our personal and family lives.

The internet is the mainstream media of the future, and its nature doesn’t allow the traditional gags to be placed on alternative ideas.
I hope that this is true. But the claws of Cultural Marxo-feminism run deep. A new postmodernist corporate behemoth called Google is the gateway to 80% of online searches. If Google doesn’t like your message, “zere are vays of making you dizappear:”
==> Is Google Censoring Climategate? Google Says No.
==> Google trends on “Climategate” show public interest increasing – but troubling questions loom
==> Al Gore Advised Google about ‘Search Quality’
Google “Climategate Google” while you still can.
BTW – for a recent proof of my contention that personalized flavors of Marxism are at the root of our society’s collective dysfunction around men and masculinity, check out this comment to Paul’s article, The Myth of Women’s Oppression: http://mensnewsdaily.com/2009/11/29/the-myth-of-womens-oppression/ :
“I had previously assumed the only nutcase males that existed were on anti-abortion websites, Turner Diaries obsessive, Helter Skelter Charles Manson wannabees? Males are oppressed by their own idiot attitudes, willingly avoiding worker solidarity and collective bargaining.”
The author’s poisonous reaction to Paul’s reasoned argument is a testimony to the uniformity of Mind and Soul that the feminist left would impose upon us all. All arguments in opposition to the feminist uber-psyche must be dismissed without review as “crazy” talk. And all of those who hold such anti-social positions must be reeducated in the language of “worker solidarity” and “collective bargaining” for their own good.
What foul and insidious people creep through our academic and governmental institutions? They sicken me. The claws of Marxo-feminism score the flesh of human liberty. It must be opposed.

Great article Paul. I like the direction and ending of it very much. I know I’m a new face to the movement; but, I also know that we’ll be getting plenty more where that came from, as people realize the statuses of men in our countries; and, I’m absolutely proud to be a part of this with you.

I also see a storm-a-brewin’. I agree with the names you’ve provided but you’ve missed a few (I’m not busting your chops here Paul-just adding my 2 cents). Marc Rudov has been on Fox News which has a large viewership. He’s also been on numerous radio shows. He is providing real visibility. He is spreading MRA Cluster Bombs everywhere he goes. How about my good friend Angry Harry-he’s among the most heavily viewed websites along with MND when it comes to men’s rights. Stephen Baskerville has been very visible in academic settings (one of the few men’s right’s scholar’s who’ve actually been actively doing something visible). Then there is all this beautiful noise coming from all the writer’s and commentators. All movements need to get into the media ether and the MRM is doing just that in different ways. We don’t have the MSM the way that feminism has had the MSM.
The MRM is collectively defining its voice. I’m militant. Some MRAs want to find common ground with the feminists. I don’t. I want to murder feminism by the boatload.
Time will tell what the ultimate collective voice will finally look like.
I hope it resembles mine.

Agreed, but I think the collective consciousness and Jung’s collective unconscious, trump all. It is what put the Marx feminist buggers in the driver’s seat to begin with, and where Google may not always bring the Muhammad to the mountain, the mountain…well you get my drift.
I don’t think Google can really get in the way of this. But I have been wrong before.

Thanks for commenting. It gives me a chance to thank and acknowledge you for being the one to prompt me to write this through our discussions on YouTube.
The stats you presented are telling. And BTW, IMO there are no “new faces” in this movement. There are only those that watch and those that do. You clearly belong in the company of the latter.

I totally agree about Rudov. He is the only one that put the cards on the table in mainstream media. Every time I watch him I wonder how he ever gets back on. Must have some kind of voodoo. And there are others I would have mentioned but for a consideration of space in a piece that was already longer than my usual.
But there is another faction of people that I would have named if I would have covered everyone.
Angry Harry, Mike LaSalle, Bernard Chapin, zed, Fidelbogen, Novaseeker and a few others. There are actually, IMO, some real and tremendously important driving forces behind the changes in collective consciousness.
I don’t know one of them that I agree with on everything, but the effect of their collective efforts in the MRM is undeniable. And I think they have had as much or more impact as some who get a lot more attention.

I’d like to take this opportunity to also acknowledge Factory, Argus Eyes, ProudGuy, Marty Nemko, Thomas Ellis, and Tom Leykis. The reason I include Leykis is that he also has a large general audience, and is often the first voice young men hear criticizing female privilege.

Fascinating. I got a message that said if I Googled the terms men’s right and women’s rights that I would find we had “officially overtaken them”
I submitted the search three times, and while I came up with slightly different numbers on one of the searches, the numbers I listed above came back exactly as stated in two of the searches and the one that was different was not off by that much.
Hmmmm….

There appears to be a strange discrepancy, between your findings and the articles’. I have posted a picture of a Google search for “women’s rights” as of December 9th 2009 here:

It shows that men’s rights have indeed surpassed women’s rights as a public interest online.

Thank you both for the interest in the accuracy if the piece. It appears to be a problem with Google returns. I confirmed Jim’s search numbers and then just went back at least ten times and confirmed MAAN’s. Thus I have changed the article correction to a clarification which is posted in SAM, with a snip of my returns and a link to a full sized image.
And I have to say, I wish I saw feminists go through this much angst over getting things right.

Google searches are region specific so they won’t be the same everywhere. I don’t know exactly how it works, Google about it for details, but expect it to vary a bit from place to place.
Google “airport” and see if Google doesn’t show you a map somewhere on the first page of airports near you. They use your IP address.

women’s rights – 51,700,000
men’s rights – 72,000,000
Yahoo
women’s rights – 523,000,000
men’s rights – 378,000,000
Same every time. Might have something to do with the way Google handles multiple pages from the same site.

I comment under my real name because I lack fear of worse than what I have already experienced. Bring it. I am right. I possess effective arguments and, if we come down to it, I am ready to sacrifice whatever credibility I have to the cause. I am a highly public person, earning my living due to my ability to impartially observe reality. To that extent, I’m vulnerable. But I will flip burgers to pay the mortgage before I stop stating the obvious and the important: Fathers’ rights are the movement of our times. It encompasses children’s rights, women’s rights and the right of the rest of society to not suffer from the pernicious effects of anti-father bias. Try to silence me. I will not be silenced. Those who hope I will lack appreciation of my bone-deep motivations: I want to parent my offspring. That’s not something one abandons just because someone opposes it. I will have justice, I will be a parent. Resist it, and be overcome.

This is welcomed news. I am a “recovering feminist” and cringe every time I hear misandrist rantings or read of yet another case, reported by Chuck Corry of the Equal Justice Foundation, of a woman lying and destroying a father’s life and relationship with his children, just to cover her own selfish, scummy behavior. I am grateful to my MRA friends who have opened my eyes over the years, and will continue to back them, and all of you, as you move forward with these overdue breakthroughs. Never doubt that there is a growing number of women out there (and not just conservative leaning) who are turning away from feminism as it is represented by NOW and the AAUW, and supporting Men’s/Father’s rights.

men’s rights – 378,000,000
Same every time. Might have something to do with the way Google handles multiple pages from the same site.”
Bottom-line is there was barely anything about men’s rights to be found a couple of years ago. It has advanced greatly already.

What a brilliant article by Paul Elam. Well written, very true, and humorous, I really enjoyed reading it.
I do believe that a priority for the Men’s Rights Activists is to ensure that western men gain access to the male contraceptive pill as soon as possible (something that feminism is going to block with every weapon they have) and here is why –
The Rise and Fall of Feminism/Female Domination
Dec 2009
The Male Contraceptive Pill; and Freedom For Men –
The male pill is on its way, and will be with us in less than 5 years, if not from the US or Britain, then from China and India.
The pill for men will be the biggest step for freedom that men have ever had – freedom from the serfdom imposed by fatherhood. So if the present tyrannical feminist British women want their babies, they will have to offer a far better deal to men than at present.
For example –
1
The present marriage laws, and the infamous and secret ‘family courts’ will have to go, and quickly, and the dictatorial marriage and ‘common law’ marriage expectations drastically changed.
2
The constant demeaning of masculinity, particularly on TV in programs such as ‘One Foot in the Grave’, ‘Men Behaving Badly’ and the present ‘soaps’ in general, where men habitually behave in an infantile manner, and are presented in an appalling way, will have to be recognized as highly offensive to men, and dispensed with.
3
The most powerful of the British feminist weapons – the wild and malicious accusations of ‘rape’ and ‘child sex’ – will have to be brought back under civilized law where the accuser will be required to have hard evidence and be held responsible for their actions, both in the making of the accusation, and their part in the incident. The male sex drive is an extremely powerful force, and a woman who provokes it to the point where a man loses his self-control has only herself to blame. The accused will have to be considered innocent until – and if – proven guilty.
The Rise of Woman’s Dominance -
As far as I know never before in human history has woman obtained such a dominant position in society, and I have puzzled over this for many years. To reason this out I considered that the dominance must coincide with a recent new event, and the rise of science is the most noticeable over the last 100 years.
It seems that the science events most effecting women’s position in society are the invention of domestic labor saving devices – making the ‘housewife’ redundant, the invention of mechanized work equipment – making the ‘male upper body’ strength requirement redundant in the workplace, and – most significantly – the invention of the female contraception pill which gave a woman political power over men by either withholding sex, which she has always been able to do, or rewarding with sex, which for the fear of unwanted pregnancy, she has never been able to do before. It should be noted that recent social science research has found that giving rewards has far more impact on behavior than giving punishments, which soon lose their effects altogether.
The female contraceptive pill in the 1960s Britain gave British women direct power over sex availability without fear of pregnancy for the first time in human history. There was a popular phrase in the 1960s – ‘free love’, but there was nothing ‘free’ about the ‘free love’ of the 1960s. It came at a price, a price controlled and set by women who seized upon this new ‘pillow power’ with vigor; and some have used this power – unwisely – to disadvantage men in every way possible, thus asserting a position of dominance over men in which she has reduced them to a level of disadvantaged cowed subservience – and infantile behavior in an attempt to present themselves as children entitled to the protection of the maternal instinct.
The ‘Mad Maternal Instinct’ – the all powerful evolutionary force in women that regards masculine Men as simple mating objects when in lust, and when not, as dangerous predators to be avoided or driven off and away from the precious family group.
The Decline of Dominance and Re-establishment of Equality -
The timing of the 1960s pill and ten years later, the recognition of the feminist movement is an incident that supports the view that they are connected in a cause and effect relationship, but via a third factor.
I would argue that the dominance by women is not a result of feminism, but of the 1960s pill. Feminism developed out of this dominance. Once the dominance is removed, feminism will dwindle and demise.
The 1960s pill does give an advantage and dominance via the reward of sex to men. But with an equivalent male contraceptive pill, men can make it quite clear that they are not prepared to have children unless they want to, and are offered a satisfactory position in the family group and society – enforced by law. This would equalize the woman’s power over men’s sex drive with the man’s power over the maternal instinct; and the need to breed. Hence the counter balancing of the power given to women – ironically by male scientists! – by the 1960s female contraceptive pill.
Once the power of the 1960s female pill is counterbalanced – equalized – by the male pill this yoke of female dominance is likely to be flung off with surprising speed, and retribution and revenge on the British feminist female – and feminist male – is likely to be wreaked, as some wiser and more sensible women have been aware of for some time.

Sorry, but I think it is much, much, much too early to start declaring victory here.
Feminism is still absolutely dominant is every sector of society. Nothing has changed, if feminists (male or female) can speak out their man-hating ideas without any fear for resistance and countering.
And this is still the case in almost every public situation.
It is not because we can chat away on the internet that real changes are implemented.
Furthermore, I think we have reached nothing, as long as education is still in the claws of feminists.
It is of extreme importance to reach the young boys.
Yes, we old guys have found out what’s the deal with women, but in many cases the damage has been done.
And while we celebrate our victories on the internet, the young boys are subjected to a complete feminist moral in schools, on TV, and all other public communication.
We have to break this circle.
I hear many times a man saying, after his eyes are opening for the way women rule the world that they will teach their sons these insights too, to save them all the trouble they went through. But what about all the boys who have a younger father, who has not yet found out about these things?
Or worse: what about the boys who are being raised by only women?

Doesn’t matter how many men’s rights sites or blogs, or forums there are out there. For one thing, new hate speech laws that will very likely make it into law next year will probably make it very hard for MRAs to say anything about feminists……or women….or gays….but will do nothing about these groups hanging it on men…….especially white hetero guys.
Besides that……feminists have lobby groups……..they are in government…in schools……they are organized…….they get gov money….they run the media……..the courts……they are in nearly every mans bed that sleeps with a woman…..and a lot of men’s beds that don’t sleep with a woman. They decide if the sex you had last night was sex………or rape.
If men are going to have any rights at all in the future, we might have to make some unusual bed fellows…..and give up some stuff…….like beer, wine, etc……..in other words………how does a white hetero guy become part of a repressed minority with all the rights that go with it…….including the right to bag gays…….feminists……etc………by becoming Muslim.
We should seriously consider this…….Islam IS the only religion……..culture……..or society that has resisted feminism…….it they are the only men that have had the strength to keep their women from destroying masculinity……….just maybe……..for all their faults…..they are onto something.
In any case……..I think every man who is concerned about men’s rights…..or lack of……..should maybe start to consider Islam his friend rather than his foe……..let’s face it……..the more influence Islam has in our society…….the less feminism there will be. And feminism will not attack Islam……..it never has……never will……..because that would be racist after all. Think about it. Islam is the only antidote for feminism……..there is no other.

As to the rest of your post, I am not a religious person, but I find it unfathomable that Christians would actually break with thousands of years of religious tradition and embrace Islam as a political move.

It’s a welcome article Paul. I take Bruno’s point that it is too early to declare victory, but the article does not do that. It does however predict victory, and explains how and why it will be achieved.
I have little interest in the exact statistics of hits on Google sites, which prove nothing as far as I am concerned; I am more interested in the trend, which is definitely in our direction. I think a particularly good marker is the way that feminists are being challenged openly wherever they show their prejudices. I am also in the UK, where the MSM still allow feminists a totally disproportionate voice. But every time they trot out another male-bashing article – because they cannot do anything else – they are now being called out and slammed. Their false statistics are being debunked. Fewer and fewer comments are posted in support of them and more and more posts expose their deceptions and their bias. People are getting progressively more fed up with their monotonous whining. They are losing traction.
Our time is coming.

Chaps. All this talk of internet censorship and oppressive laws doesn’t alter one hugely important fact:
Men have eyes and see every day what the situation is vis-a-vis women and in ever larger numbers will simply, are simply, voting with their feet and refusing to play the rigged game that is modern marriage, and in doing so have discovered the pleasure that a life can have when one is truly one’s own boss, no “honey do” lists, no extravagant spending on useless crap, no nagging just because she feels pissy about something, the availability of no strings sex if you want it and are smart enough to be careful, and these freewheeling” guys are not shy about extolling the joys of such a life to their friends and to those young men who haven’t yet married.
More important is the fact that when questioned about their reasons for avoiding marriage, they are brutally honest about it, and when these opinions are so readily bandied about in everyday life they cannot fail to have an impact.
Young men growing up today with these attitudes will soon be able to spot those women who see them as merely a means to a baby, new car or house or better job and those women will be left to wither on the vine, not to mention those same savvy young men are tomorrows judges and CEO's and military officers and slowly these ideas will filter into the mainstream and become orthodoxy.

Paul,
I would only point out that people converted to the Muslim faith in the past (and to Christianity, as well) for less than “faith” purposes.
Stu,
I’m not sure about the Muslim question there, or Islam as a redemptive social force.
But quite simply, if it comes down to the wire – maybe force is the solution, then? Directed correctly, mind – not random violence, that doesn’t help anyone unless they’re in a physical, fists-flying fight anyway, and then it’s a give-or-take. Success not guaranteed.
A few firebrands could make a LOT of people VERY uncomfortable, though.
Since its only basic irregular strategy here, let’s sort of spell it out.
Someone with a handgun, rifle, shotgun, crossbow, or bow and arrow decides to kill as a political statement. We’ll say it’s a public official, like a Governor. This killer has never met the governor of their state (or the governor of the target state), has no ties, and has no motive beyond politics. This person may be religious targeting an atheist; or could be an Ivory-Tower Liberal targeting a “religious zealot”. Call this assassin “everyman.”
In whatever way, this individual is successful in both carrying out the assassination, and then eluding capture; there is no evidence of note (fingerprints, DNA, footprints, car tracks, no weapon or shell recovered, bullet is mangled by using a dum-dum, etc.)
This person then goes back to their normal life, keeps their mouth shut, never thinks about it – maybe dissociates themselves from it, burying it in their mind somewhere so it doesn’t affect normal life.
How many politicians would be VERY circumspect for quite some time following this? Votes can be manufactured, elections bought or thrown, rivals coerced into dropping out – but a single target in the sea of humanity? Especially one who can move? One who has no real ties or motive, and is looking to a long-term correction instead of an immediate “solution”? How do you fight a ghost, or an idea?
And we haven’t even looked into someone truly malevolent, who knows how to make weapons, or explosives, or poisons, and might be willing to murder hundreds or thousands to get the one target he’s after.
Now, put ONE person in each state (OK, Hawaii might have problems) who would act in the surgical manner, even just once, against a lawmaker or government official. In NJ, it’s probably a 1 in several million chance that the lawmaker / official is facing this psychopathic or sociopathic individual – but since they are generally cowards at heart, they’ll see each interaction as, “This might be THE ONE.” They might even be right, but someone as cold as I described would kill the wife, leave the official alone, even shake hands with him the next day; might work IN THE SAME OFFICE…. That IS terrifying to a sane person, regardless.
If you have 48 individuals, even if they only act ONCE – you can affect a lifetime worth of change. This is because as long as the government is the only one who can (will) use force of arms, the public is neutered. One sociopath (which is what they will become, via press and the government’s need to punish – ANYONE, even an innocent, just so the matter is “closed”) can make a massive change.
It’s a hunter from NJ who decides to “talk” to the governor of Wisconsin…
The ex-sniper from California who gets up close and personal with the Maryland Assemblywoman.
The ex-con who makes a few calls, and a bridge in another state “experiences metal fatigue” at JUST the right moment….
The third one is the closest to a conspiracy, but really all he did was make a phone call, and his friend placed a charge on a bridge set to go off at JUST the right time – so the friend is innocent of anything more than endangering welfare, and the ex-con is clean because no one can connect him. (Again – no evidence left behind.)
Now, WHAT results you get, I wouldn’t even guess. Perhaps the next official is the same as the assassinated one? Maybe worse? Maybe the successor is a Socialist, Communist, Social Democrat, Constitutionalist, even Anarchist. I can’t speculate on the actual results. I can only state this would make a change in politician’s attitudes. (And by trickle-down effects, law enforcement, too. They aren’t dumb, either.) But self-preservation could be a strong motivator…

Thanks for your reply. I checked out the info on Wikipedia and found the following:
Quote –
In the 1970s, the Chinese government began researching the use of gossypol as a contraceptive. Their studies involved over 10,000 subjects, and continued for over a decade. They concluded that gossypol provided reliable contraception, could be taken orally as a tablet, and did not upset men’s balance of hormones.
However, gossypol also had serious flaws. The studies also discovered an abnormally high rate of hypo-kalemia among subjects. Hypokalemia — low blood potassium levels — causes symptoms of fatigue, muscle weakness, and at its most extreme, paralysis.
In the mid-1990s, the Brazilian pharmaceutical company Hebron announced plans to market a low-dose gossypol pill called Nofertil, but the pill never came to market.
In 1986, the Chinese stopped research because of these side effects. In 1998, the World Health Organization’s Research Group on Methods for the Regulation of Male Fertility recommended that research should be abandoned. In addition to the other side effects, the WHO researchers were concerned about gossypol’s toxicity: the toxic dose in primates is less than 10 times the contraceptive dose.

As far as I know the feminists were powerful enough to have got a male pill banned in the recent past, but today they have been weakened by men’s groups, especially those such as Men’s Rights Activists (MRA), and I doubt if they can get the coming pill banned – although I expect them to fight tooth and nail with every weapon they have, clean and dirty. I believe they will fail as most men, and many mothers anxious and worried about their loved young sons, will regard it as essential to modern life. It is probable that it is these highly motivated mothers who will swing the balance.
If the feminist do win then they still have a war. If they lose, then they have lost the war and it is a matter of dismantling the feminist institutions, and establishing equality between the sexes, not to mention justice, fairness and truth, in which the MRA can lead the way.
So I hope that the MRA will regard the establishment and availability of a male pill as a priority while still fighting the injustices commonplace in our western societies today. Injustices administrated by feminist institutions that need to be dismantled.

tyrant movements like feminism always fall eventually but as long as they have powerful organizations (that receive federal funding) that are able to influence policy makers, they will remain on life support. sad but true!

I read many comments that excessively focus on and emphasize the differences and conflicts between feminism and men’s rights. They seem to suggest that no possible resolution of the differences exists, and the only outcome is for one or the other to triumph completely by overwhelming and burying (even literally) the other.
Perhaps so, but it’s worth thinking for a moment about the really successful rights activists of the last century. In my personal opinion, the three greatest are Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King. Both were non-violent, dedicated not so much to destroying their opponents as to freeing themselves and their followers. It seems to me that they sought to truly understand their opponents’ positions before setting out to steadfastly, if non-violently, resist them.
To my knowledge, nobody ever committed a violent act at King’s or Gandhi’s urging. Yet they freed hundreds of millions of people from unjust oppression.
I believe that we are waiting for our Gandhi, our King, and that when that person arrives, assuming conditions are right, we’ll find a way to oppose without destroying any more of feminism than we absolutely have to.
I encourage my fellow men’s rights activists to push the clutch on their frustration and anger in far enough that they can see the issues in a dispassionate light, find the common ground that surely exists between us and the feminists, and discover some way of bridging our differences. I believe this must include emphasizing our own worth without tearing down the worth of others.
Feminists have accomplished many great things. When my grandmother was born, she could not vote or own property. I am grateful to feminists for the doors they have opened for my daughters, who today can aspire to any conceivable goal, including all the ones that have forever been reserved for men.
Of course, I am ungrateful for the disservice they have done my son, who must engage oppressive and biased legal and education — just to name two — as he seeks to make his way. But feminists are not my enemies. They are my sisters — I have two, both college-educated, one a lawyer — and we have far more to gain by appealing to and recruiting the more moderate elements of feminism — my sisters, to name two, are sympathetic to many of our concerns — than by attempting to paint a movement of many millions of individuals as if they were each and every one radical, lesbian man-haters.
What do you think Gandhi would have done? What do you suggest that is likely to accomplish more than he did?

Bruno Says:
December 13th, 2009 at 2:42 am
@ Mark Hendricks,
That’s an extremely interesting point you make, Mark.
Focusing on liberating men, instead of combating women, is probably the way to go at this moment, because the biggest obstacle for men’s freedom is not the feminism in the women’s heads, but it is the feminism in the men’s heads.
How can we blame women for embracing an ideology that gives them special rights and advantages?
Why would they give it up?
It is the men who are shooting themselves in the foot, when they tolerate feminism.
And the non-violent and steadfast way is certainly the best way to go.
But maybe we don’t have to wait and search so much for a Gandhi or King to stand up.
Maybe there are already a few of them among us, right here.
Let’s take, just to name one, for example, Marc Rudov.
He has a ton of ideas about men’s rights, but basically it comes down to a very simple rule:
Always treat women as peers, as equals.
Never give them any special rights or treatment.
Have fun with those who are women enough to be treated as a peer, and dump those who aren’t.
This is a very simple rule, but it has extremely far reaching consequences in private life, politics, economy … in everything actually.
And this is the message we have to get out to as many men as possible, because women will not give up their privileges by themselves, they will only lose them as more and more men will refuse to give them these privileges.
